Welcome to the Montserrat Government UK Office website.
Our office has two main roles.
- First, we represent Montserrat in the UK — working with UK Government departments, Parliamentarians, other Overseas Territories, Commonwealth partners, local authorities, and industry organisations to support our island’s development.
- Second, we support Montserratians living in the UK and help keep our community connected to home.
Our work covers a wide range of areas, including health, education, trade, investment, climate resilience, and cultural heritage. We also organise events, share information, and build relationships that help raise the profile of Montserrat and create opportunities for our people.
We work closely with community organisations and diaspora groups across the UK, as they play an important role in preserving our heritage, strengthening our networks, and supporting our wider mission.

Since its establishment in 1998, the Montserrat Government UK Office has served as the official representation of the Government of Montserrat in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to advocate for Montserrat’s interests, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote economic development as a United Kingdom Overseas Territory.
Key functions of the MGUKO include:
- Diplomacy and Representation: Strengthening ties with key stakeholders, governments, and diplomatic missions.
- Consular Assistance: Supporting Montserratians in the UK with identification, documentation, and immigration inquiries.
- Diaspora Community Engagement: Cultivating connections and promoting cultural heritage within the Montserrat Diaspora.
- Island Sustainable Development: Driving eco-friendly tourism, trade, and investments for Montserrat's economic grow and environmental growth.
